Today, April 21, 2016, it has been reported that one of music’s greatest icons and innovators, Prince, has passed away at the age of 57.
Pioneering the “Minneapolis sound” — a mix of rock, funk and electronic groove music — Prince is responsible for many important and influential albums, including Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, just to name a few.
Much will be said about his life and accomplishments, but to dwell only on his death is to miss the whole point of Prince.
Prince was all about life; living and expressing it as purely as possible.
“Electric word ‘life’; it means forever and that’s a mighty long time” – Prince
So rather than be all glum, I’m going to focus on the best examples of the living genius that was Prince.
Enjoy.
ed. note: Now let’s get to some good ol’ fashioned Prince stories, which apparently are like herpes because more people than we ever knew have ’em.
